The Sierra On-Line Story
as told through the items in my collection
Volume I

37 distinct chapters collectively help depict the narrative of Sierra On-Line, highlighting various aspects of the company’s history through a selection of titles released between 1980 and 1996.

The main objective has always been to create a high-quality physical coffee-table-style book but as it will require some investment I thought I’ll make a digital version available first with the hope sales can offset some of the expenses involved in the production.

Below are my main priorities for the production of a physical release:

-All photos in the digital version are shot on various generations of iPhones, a physical book deserves much higher-quality photos, especially since the book relies heavily on its visuals. My goal is to either lease or more preferably buy a real camera and get some studio lighting.

-The digital version has only been proofread by me and I would like to pay an experienced proofreader to go through the book from start to finish.

-Some additional rewriting, rephrasing, error-correcting, and generally making sure everything is tightened up…

-Physical test runs to get the book to look and feel just right.

The full 320-page digital edition (as PDF) can be purchased below. The link to the digital book will be emailed, as fast as humanly possible, to the email address used for the PayPal payment.
Any proceeds will be funneled directly into the pursuit of a physical version.
-I’ll continually be working on and improving the digital version, as it will be the basis for the physical book. Updates will be announced below.

UPDATE #1 (July 2023)

I have been going through some of the chapters, revising text, correcting things, and fine-tuning the layout.
The revised version can be acquired from the links received when you purchased the digital version.

UPDATE #2 (September 2023)

I’m still working on some of the content but I have received the first two test prints from a print-on-demand business in the US.
Great to finally have a few physical versions to go through… A sneak peek below.

UPDATE #3 (April 2024)

After much consideration, I’ve decided to redesign the entire book. Switching from the wide format to a more traditional upright format. This is to make the final physical copy available at the lowest price possible. I’m 3/4 done with the redesign and have added more text and corrected bits and pieces here and there, also many of the pictures have been reshot in higher and better quality (still using my iPhone). When the new version is complete, everyone who has purchased the digital version will receive a new download link.
