Mini-Doc: The Dynamix Adventures – Part I

Welcome to another Mini-Documentary. In this first episode of The Dynamix Adventures, we look back at the early years of the company and the path that led toward its first adventure game, Rise of the Dragon. Founded in 1984 in Eugene, Oregon, Dynamix quickly became known for its technical skill, creating some of the most advanced and cinematic-driven games of the era. Up through the 1980s, many of the company’s titles were published by larger companies such as Electronic Arts, meaning the Dynamix name often remained behind the scenes. But inside the company, ambitions continued to grow with projects like Project Firestart and David Wolf: Secret Agent, games cementing the company’s ability in interactive cinematic storytelling.

The episode follows the games and events that catapulted the company into 1990s fame, including the company’s move toward greater independence and its eventual acquisition by Sierra On-Line, setting the stage for the development of Rise of the Dragon and the next chapter in Dynamix’s history.

I initially planned for a “full-length” documentary, but given my relatively small amount of available time for hobby projects, I had to split it into multiple parts.
